Poem Three: Sunward Climber
Sunward ClimberHidden in Lake ErieWeak and wearyA glitter pixie who singsShakes her crinkle wingsAnd says;‘Down by the willow, deep like a pillow,Children cry for chivalry, oh so blissfully,And wait.”Pretty pixie was once a girly-wurlyWith no help in her flurry -Dust shimmersAs she looks to the sun’s cinderAnd says;‘Oh little child, rise and flyAway from your battle cry,You, sweetling, have a magic in you –Snares, spells and love affairs. It all waits. ’Pixie giggles, icy breath escapesAs she thinks of people’s amorphous shapes,Sunward she climbs,With rosemary and thyme,Away from civilians,To a world of vermillion.- Jennifer O’ConnorAll Rights Reserved - Jennifer O'Connor
